Little did we know when we went to pick up our first golden retriever what a journey we would be on.
Standing in Pam’s kitchen, looking over the little balls of fluff, it was difficult to choose.
The male we had “pre-picked” was playing with the rest of the puppies.
Another boy however wouldn’t leave our side, he kept playing with Brian’s shoe string.
It seems He knew all along…
I am going home with you, “cause You belong to ME, ME, ME!
And, he was right!
“Bailey”, Tessahoc’s Land O Lakes Gold CD TDI was our first golden, but not our first puppy.
It soon became abundantly clear, after Bailey got his registered name by eating an entire stick
of butter off the counter in one gulp, that some obedience training might be in order!
The quest to find a suitable class brought us to a location almost an hour away.
A slight drive, but oh so worth it in the long term!
It was there, with the help of instructor and now friend Elaine, that Brian caught the obedience “BUG”.
And, our love affair with the golden retriever as our chosen breed, began.

Bailey and Brian went on to compete in AKC obedience events and Bailey retired with a CD. Always a “goof” Bailey was the most lovable boy you could meet. Sadly, September 2008, Bailey crossed to the Rainbow Bridge.
Always missed, we are grateful to him for opening the door and starting us on our Golden Journey.
It is because of Bailey we have met so many people…
